The Woman Behind Mom Seasons My story didn't begin with Mom Seasons. It began with a career, a young family, a move across the world, and a season of motherhood that I never could have predicted. From 2006 to 2012, I was living in Togo, where I began my professional career right out of college as an insurance agent. It was my first experience in the working world and the beginning of a professional journey that would take me through many different seasons of life. I was building a career and learning what it meant to be financially independent and responsible for my own professional life. Then motherhood changed everything. Between 2010 and 2011, I became a mother for the first time. I was still a working mom, trying to balance a career with the beautiful chaos of raising a young child. Then life took me in a completely different direction. My husband joined the U.S. military, and I moved to the United States to join him. Suddenly, I was navigating a new country, a new culture, a new language environment, and a completely different chapter of my life. And that's where my stay-at-home-mom journey began. The Years I Put Myself on Pause In 2013–2014, I welcomed my second daughter. By then, I was fully immersed in motherhood. There was no career plan waiting for me. No carefully mapped-out five-year strategy. There was simply family. For years, my days revolved around my children and my home. Like many stay-at-home mothers, I became very good at taking care of everyone else. But somewhere along the way, I began wondering: What about me? Motherhood gave me so much, but it also made me realize how easily a woman can lose sight of the person she was before becoming “Mom.” I didn't stop having ideas. I didn't stop wanting to learn. I didn't stop dreaming. I simply didn't know yet what the next version of my life would look like. Starting Again In 2017–2018, my son was born, and something shifted. I decided it was time to go back to school. Starting over wasn't easy. I was a mother of three, returning to education after years away from a traditional career path. I chose Hospitality Management, a field that allowed me to combine organization, customer service, creativity, and my love of working with people. From 2018 to 2021, I spent three years working toward my Associate Degree in Hospitality Management while simultaneously completing a Food Service Management certification. During that period, I completed an internship at Marriott and eventually landed my first part-time position with a catering company. It wasn't a glamorous comeback story. It was real life. I was studying, working, raising children, managing a household, and trying to figure out what came next. But I was moving again. And that mattered. Finding My Way Back Into the Working World After graduating, I continued exploring different ways to build a professional life that could coexist with motherhood. From 2022 to 2025, I joined the Avoya Travel Network as an independent travel agent, helping clients plan cruises, vacations, and customized travel experiences. I also worked with Papa, owned a small cleaning business, and explored other flexible ways of earning an income. None of these experiences followed a perfectly straight career path. But that's exactly the point. A woman's professional life doesn't always have to be linear. Sometimes we pause. Sometimes we start over. Sometimes we take a completely different road. Sometimes we build several things at once. And sometimes we discover that the skills we thought we had left behind are still there, waiting for us. Where I Am Now In 2026, I returned to full-time work as a CYP Program Assistant, continuing to build my professional experience while remaining connected to the military community and families. But there is another role that means just as much to me. I am the Founder and Chief Editor of Mom Seasons. And perhaps, in many ways, Mom Seasons is where all of my previous seasons finally meet. The working woman. The wife. The stay-at-home mother. The student who started again. The hospitality professional. The travel advisor. The entrepreneur. The woman who spent years trying to figure out what she wanted next. And the writer who realized that there were probably many other women asking themselves the same questions. Why I Created Mom Seasons I created Mom Seasons because I believe a woman can love her family deeply without disappearing inside motherhood. I believe staying home to raise children is a meaningful choice—but it shouldn't require a woman to abandon her identity, her curiosity, her skills, or her financial awareness. I believe women should be able to talk honestly about money, marriage, motherhood, identity, ambition, relationships, style, travel, reinvention, and all the things that exist beyond the traditional definition of being a “good mom.” Most importantly, I believe that motherhood is a part of a woman's story—not the entire story. Mom Seasons is my way of creating a space for those conversations. A space where women can share what they've lived. Question what they've been told. Laugh at the absurdity of everyday life. Talk about the difficult things. Discover new possibilities. And perhaps find a little bit of themselves again. Because our lives don't happen in one straight line. They happen in seasons. Every season has its story. And this is mine.
